Melbourne coach Craig Bellamy says Benji Marshall will bring plenty to the table for whichever club he links with.
To the best of his knowledge the Melbourne Storm has not spoken to him, but coach Craig Bellamy says whichever club acquires Benji Marshall will be lucky to have him.

Since Marshall declared his intention to return to the NRL earlier this week speculation has circled about what colours the star will wear.

The Storm have been seen as a possible suitor, given the departure of Gareth Widdopp has left a hole next to Cooper Cronk in their halves.

A Cronk-Marshall pairing would be an exciting prospect but one the coach refused to fully entertain.

"As far as I know the club hasn't spoken to Benji," said Bellamy. "In the couple of interviews I've seen, Sydney seems to be the common theme... I think that is where his roots are and where he will end up."

"I think whatever team gets him he will be very, very handy for them I'm sure he'll be super hungry to come back and play the way we know he can play."

Benji or no Benji, the Storm's immediate concern is overturning their current form slump that has seen them lose three of their past four matches.

They will be out to steady their season against the Warriors on Friday night, in the Anzac Day game that is arguably their biggest drawcard of the season.

"I think it is, with the size of the crowd and this game has got a bit of tradition now with the Storm and the Warriors," said Bellamy.

"It's a great atmosphere, a really big game and one I think both teams look forward to every year."

Kick-off is at 6pm with a capacity 28,000-strong crowd expected for the blockbuster.
