A bout of the flu and injuries to key players forced the Sharks to make four late changes to its starting line-up. Captain Paul Gallen is out due to an abdominal hernia and Jayson Bukuya has succumbed to an ankle injury. Replacing them from the bench is Tyson Frizell and Andrew Fifita.
Isaac Gordon and Colin Best are also out with the flu, and are replaced in the starting side by John Williams and Ricky Leutele.
The Roosters will also have to do without their captain with Braith Anasta a late withdrawal. Daniel Mortimer will move into five-eighth while Nafe Seluini comes onto the bench for his Roosters debut.
